Macambo:
Quick History: This is a strange village piece. The actual place was called Mocambo but the piece was produced as Macambo. We are not sure if this was done for legal reasons or if it was a mistake on the village makers part. However, it is listed because it is clearly the same business. Mocambo first opened in 1941 and closed in June of 1958.
Macy's:
Quick History: Macy's started out in 1858 and is still in operation as of December 2021. Macy's is a retailer that operates many locations around the United States.
Mail Pouch Tobacco Barn:
Quick History: Mail Pouch Tobacco Barn was a barn with one or more sides painted with a barn advertisement for the West Virginia Mail Pouch chewing tobacco company. The program ran from the years 1891 to 1992, and at its height in the early 1960s, about 20,000 Mail Pouch barns were spread across 22 states.

Majestic Theater:
Quick History: Majestic Theater was indeed a real theater chain that was in operation for many years. However, it is important to note that we are not sure if this village is supposed to represent one of the theaters or not. It is listed just in case.
Marsh:
Quick History: Marsh was a grocery store chain that started in 1931 and operated for 90 years. The grocery store chain went out of business in 2017.

Marsh Corporate Headquarters:
This was when Marsh Corporate Headquarters operated in the building. Marsh no longer operates within the building. However, it is now operated by Knowledge Services which is pictured to the right.
This is what is in the building as of December of 2021.
Quick History: Marsh was a grocery store chain that started in 1931 and operated for 90 years. The corporate office was located in Indianapolis, IN. The corporate building is still there, but is operated by a new company as of December of 2021.
Marsh / Pepsi Coliseum at the Indiana State Fair Grounds:
Quick History: Marsh / Pepsi Coliseum at the Indian State Fair Grounds was indeed a real place. I don't have much information about this other than that.
MATCO Tools Garage:
Quick History: MATCO Tools is indeed a real company. MATCO was first established in the year 1946.
McDonald's:
Quick History: McDonald's is one of the largest fast food chains within the United States. Not much more needs to be said about this company other than that.

McNamara Florist:
Quick History: McNamara Florist was first founded in 1954. It is still in business as of October of 2022.
Meijer:
Quick History: Meijer started out in the year 1934. It is still in operation as of October of 2025. Meijer currently operates 268 locations as of October of 2025.

Menards:
Quick History: Menards started out in the year 1960. It is still in operation as of December of 2021. Menards is a home improvement retail company and continues to grow throughout the USA.

Mercantile:
Quick History: Mercantile is a restaurant, bakery, and store that is operated by Ree Drummond. It is located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
Michaels:
Quick History: Michaels is an arts and craft retailer that is still in operation as of December of 2021.
Mickey's Dining Car:
Quick History: Mickey's Dining Car has been in operation since 1939. It is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Milk Bottle Dairy Bar & Restaurant:
Quick History: Milk Bottle Dairy Bar and Restaurant is indeed a real place. This piece was designed based upon what the village looked like in the 50's and 60's. Surprising this place is still open as of December of 2021 and is located in Raynham, Massachusetts.
Note: This village was made my Lefton which was meant for HO trains. However, many village collectors add these pieces into their villages because they are close in scale to some other brands of Christmas villages.
Side note: This village might look decent in a Halloween Town Set up. However, I would struggle to make this work in a Christmas village.
Missouri Star Quilt Co:
Quick History: Missouri Star Quilt Co. is indeed a real place. It is still in operation as of October of 2022.
The Monte Carlo Casino:
Quick History: The Monte Carlo Casino is a real casino that is located in Las Vegas. It is still in operation as of October of 2022.
Mountain High Outfitters:
Quick History: Mountain High Outfitters is a real store that has been in operation for many years. As of October of 2022 it is still in operation.
Mrs. Stover's Bungalow Candies:
Quick History: Mrs. Stover's Bungalow Candies started out in 1923 and was originally called Mrs. Stover's Bungalow Candies. In 2021 this company is better known as Russell Stover Candies. This village was created to be like the location that is pictured above.
