Quick History: Dillard's first started out in 1938 when it was founded by William T. Dillard. It is still in operation as of October of 2022 with 282 stores in 29 states in the USA.

Note on this piece: This piece is extremely hard to find. It was a custom tailored piece for Dillard's Department Stores with the distinctive Dillard's sign and is based on the Dayfield's Department Store Dept 56 Piece that was made for "Christmas in the City." Custom-tailored pieces are specially designed for specific organizations like the Collectors Club House (54800) or Jack's Umbrella Shop (05826) for the National Council of Clubs (NCC). Other times, they are made for businesses the the Heinz House ( 07826) or the Heinz Grocery Store (05600) for the Heinz Co. , and the State Farm Main Street Memories (56000), Wells Fargo (05930), Spam (06956), Applebee's (06230), Bachman's (08802), Lionel (02202), Frango Chocolate (06300), and Bronner's Christmas Wonderland (06277).

Quick History: The Dr. Pepper Drug Store was indeed a real place. This was actually the place that Dr. Pepper originated from. Like its flavor, the origin of Dr. Pepper is out-of-the-ordinary. Charles Alderton, a young pharmacist working at Morrison's store, is believed to be the inventor of the now famous drink. Alderton spent most of his time mixing up medicine for the people of Waco, but in his spare time he liked to serve carbonated drinks at the soda fountain. He liked the way the drug store smelled, with all of the fruit syrup flavor smells mixing together in the air. He decided to create a drink that tasted like that smell. He kept a journal, and after numerous experiments he finally hit upon a mixture of fruit syrups that he liked.

Quick History: Drummond Ranch is a real place that is located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Drummond Ranch is where Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, lives.

It should be noted that the barn that is pictured is not a real place located on the Ranch. It is listed only because Drummond Ranch is real. I do wish that this barn was based upon a real barn on the Ranch. However, sadly that is not the case. Once again, this village piece is listed only because Drummond Ranch is indeed a real Ranch. that Ree Drummond lives on.
