Quick History: Academy is indeed a real place that has locations all across the country as of October of 2024.

Ace Hardware:
Quick History: Ace Hardware is a small hardware store located within the USA.
Note: There are many different versions of the Ace Hardware. I am not sure if I have all of them pictured.

Aldi:
Quick History: Aldi is a grocery store chain that can be found all across the United States. As of 2022 it is still in operation.
A.L. Ross & Sons. Inc Grocery:
Quick History: A.L. Ross & Sons Inc was a store that eventually grew into Ross Supermarket. Ross Supermarket was then bought out by the Marsh Grocery Store chain. Unfortunately, when Marsh bought them they converted the stores over to the Marsh branding and when Marsh went out of business it took the Ross Supermarket chain with them.
Note: This is just a newspaper clipping showing the announcement of Ross Supermarket being bought out by Marsh.
American Diner:
Quick History: Honestly, I am not sure about this village. I am not sure if it is really a real place or not. However, I have it included based upon what another Christmas Village expert, Shelly Neisen, told me. Shelly pointed out that this was a real place. I have no idea where this is located at.
American Gas:
Quick History: American Gas was a real place and remained in operation for many years. It later became known as Amoco Gas .
American Girl Place:
Quick History: The first American Girl Place store opened in 1998. As of October of 2025 it states that there are only 7 locations left that are open within the United States.
American Hero Comics:
Quick History: This piece is an honorable mention since it is not real but close to being real.
Quick History: Unfortunately the American Hero Comics is not real. However, the closest thing that could be found was America's Heroes Comics. This is just being mentioned because it was so close to being a real place and it is commonly sent in for being a real place.
Applebee's:
Quick History: Applebee's is a sit down type of restaurant and is still in business today within the USA.
Arby's:
Quick History: Arby's was first founded in the year 1964. It has grown a great deal since that time and has over 3,300 restaurants that are opened.
Note: This village was is actually the O size for a train set. However, many village collectors add these pieces into their villages because they are close in scale to some other brands of Christmas villages, and they just look really good in the Christmas displays.
Area 51 Alien Center:
Quick History: Area 51 Alien Center is indeed a real company that operates in Amargosa Valley, NV. As of October of 2024 it is still in business.

Arthur's Fresh Market:
Quick History: Arthur's Fresh Market is a market that is owned by Marsh Supermarkets and is a grocery store. It is still in operation as of July 2022 based upon our knowledge.
A&W:
Quick History: A&W is a fast food establishment that has been around for years and has locations all across the United States. A&W can date its origins back to the year 1919. As of October of 2024 this company is still in business.
